How it works

Scan without a scanner in three steps

Upload a file or photo

Drop the file into the box above or click “Choose files”. Several at once is fine.

Pick a scan look

The “Office MFP” preset works for most cases. Sliders are there for fine-tuning.

Download the PDF

Click “Download scanned PDF” — the file goes to your downloads.

Two cases where this helps

In the first, the document already exists digitally (PDF, Word, Excel, slides) but has to be delivered as a scan. In the second, you only have a paper sheet and can photograph it.

Either way, Let's Scan turns the source into a PDF with the signs of a real scan: slight skew, grain, soft light and paper tone.

How to photograph a sheet well

Lay the sheet on a flat dark surface and shoot from above in even light, without your phone's shadow. The whole page should fit in the frame. iPhone HEIC photos work too.

After uploading, switch to B/W for a “straight off the scanner” copy and raise contrast a little to lighten the background.

No install, no cloud

There is nothing to install: it runs in your browser on desktop and mobile. Files are processed on your device and are never uploaded.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I scan a document without a scanner?

Upload a file or a photo of the sheet to the scanner on this page, pick a preset and download the PDF.

Can I make a scan from my phone?

Yes. Photograph the sheet in good light, upload the picture and download the PDF. It works on iPhone and Android.

Is it a real scan?

It's an image styled as a scan. It's handy for correspondence and archives, but the recipient decides what a document must look like.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs in the browser and no sign-up is needed.
