Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will the file get?

Phone photos usually shrink 2–5×, PNG screenshots 2–4×. If a file is already better compressed, we leave it alone.

Will the quality get worse?

With “Recommended” you cannot see the difference. “Light” compresses PNG losslessly, “Strong” gives the smallest size.

What about metadata?

EXIF, geotags and camera details are removed — that saves space and protects your privacy.
